Docker, the popular tool for managing Linux Containers, became one of the most important DevOps tools that are about to change the way we deploy software. In this session, we’ll show you what Docker is and why it is important. You will learn some basic commands and usage, see a demo and participate in a Q&A session to answer everything you ever wanted to know about Docker and its ecosystem.

Docker is rather new, and many use it to improve their local development environments to great success. In production environments, deployment of Docker images and containers becomes more challenging and running a container per-machine without some central management is missing out on the many opportunities to make infrastructure easier and improve the delivery workflow. This session will cover some of the aspects of using Docker in a scalable infrastructure in the cloud, where resources can come and go, but the system as a whole remains stable and highly available.

Software Architecture is about the structure of a system, the collection of many parts and their interactions. Software that can answer the business need for flexibility and speed while being robust and scalable is difficult. In this session, the new trend in software architecture will be revealed - Microservices. Moving systems to the cloud that has elastic resources added many benefits, like flexibility and speed, but managing big monoliths of software upon this infrastructure doesn’t fit well. Microservices is an approach for a software architecture that fits better with the elastic cloud infrastructure of today, and tomorrow.
